Corporate Contributions

Tuition fees and ticket sales cover less than 50% of the costs to provide our unique educational and performance program to talented young singers and their audiences. The remaining funds must come from contributors who believe in investing in the future of our children and our community. We invite corporations, businesses, organizations and foundations to support the work of the Chorus.

Chorister Camp

Chorale choristers spend two days each summer preparing for the upcoming season.  In addition to rehearsals, choristers have the opportunity to spend some time getting to know each other through activities such as tie-dying, nature scavenger hunts, and campfires complete with campfire songs and s’mores. Average costs to provide this experience for choristers total $2,000 each year.

Sharing the Choral Experience

The Syracuse Children’s Chorus produces Sharing the Choral Experience, a biennial choral workshop for public school music teachers, presented in collaboration with the Syracuse University Music Education Department.  Teachers and Syracuse University Music Education students will attend choral workshops presented by Syracuse University faculty members and SCC staff. Attendees will receive a packet of complimentary music appropriate for beginning choirs, demonstrations of proper vocal teaching technique, and a concert by the Syracuse Children’s Chorus.  Participants will also have the opportunity to attend an open rehearsal with the Syracuse University Women’s Choir. Sharing the Choral Experience allows teachers and students to learn in a collaborative environment and encourages interaction between future music teachers and music teachers from the Central New York area.   Average costs for this unique choral workshop total $1,400Sharing the Choral Experience is scheduled to be held again in March of 2012.

Concert Tickets for Local Students

Businesses have a unique opportunity to provide tickets to SCC concerts for local public school students.  Unique financial challenges often prevent inner-city school children from experiencing the Chorus in concert.  For as little as $500, your business could allow for 50 students to attend an SCC concert for free!
